A Distant Plain – Storage Solution From Rails on Boards

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these Rails on Boards/Cube4Me storage solution posts!

Partially it’s because I haven’t had any good ones to post about, and partially it’s because I bought this one way back in June and then forgot to post about it!

This one is for another COIN game, like Liberty or Death.

In this case, it’s A Distant Plain, about the war in Afghanistan.

It’s another game that I would love to get to the table one day, and this storage solution is simple and will make that a lot easier (you know, once I find opponents and stuff like that).

How simple is it?

Just one tray and a couple of card trays.

All of the game components actually fit into one of the Cube4Me 20-compartment, 15mm deep trays with a lid.

Of course this fits into the box really easily.

Hell, it even has space for the pawns and dice!

Each faction two compartment for its components.

Then the rest of the counters get the rest of the tray.

Two of the 16mm deep Standard USA Card Trays house all of the cards.

There are 72 Event cards and 6 Propaganda cards, so you need two card trays unfortunately.

Part of me does wish Cube4Me would get a third size tray, a bit bigger.

I don’t know about 72 cards, but I’m running into multiple games where the deck is something like 54 or 58 cards, meaning that one deep tray doesn’t fit them and two of the smaller ones (28 cards) packs them just a little too tight (Skies Above Britain is a good example of that).

But anyway, I digress.

This tray and these card trays fit into the box perfectly with no lid lift whatsoever.

And everything is so organized!

This set is available direct from the Cube4Me web site and is very handy.

Let me know what you think of it.
