People Power – Storage Solution From Rails on Boards

It’s time for another in a series of reviews of storage tray solutions from Rails on Boards/Cube4Me, as they endeavour to corner the market on these plastic trays.

I even have a bunch of GMT counter trays that I haven’t used because of this!

Today’s storage solution was purchased from Cube4Me, so not one I put together.

It’s for one of the latest COIN games from GMT, People Power: Insurgency in the Phillippines, 1981-1986.

COIN games are really great candidates for these trays because they’re not heavy in the counter department, the wooden cubes and discs fit really well, and the card deck fits perfectly in a couple of the card trays.

Is it the same for People Power?

Let’s take a look.

You can find the Cube4Me entry for this set here.

It just consists of one 20-compartment 15mm deep tray for all of the components.

There are definitely not a lot of counters in this one, so storing in just one tray is very easy. As you can see, there is still a lot of space!

The cards go into three card trays (two of the 10 mm deep ones and one of the 16 mm deep trays).

Unlike a lot of the games I’ve been dealing with regarding Cube4Me, there is actually more than enough room for the cards in these trays.

Usually there are just a few too many cards in the game so the tray is very tight.

Not in this one!

As usual, everything fits very nicely in the box.

Some would almost say “too nicely.”

I have to admit, this is almost borderline in my “is a storage solution really necessary?” consideration that I mentioned a few months back.

There are so few pieces in the game, the deck of cards isn’t huge, that there’s really no reason you can’t do baggies or something like that.

So am I glad I bought this set from Cube4Me?

Yeah, I am. It’s nice to have.

Is it necessary?

Not really.

But it’s nice to have choices, isn’t it?

If you want a storage solution for People Power, I’d definitely recommend this one.

But I’d totally understand if you look at this and say “I don’t need it.”

Though only do that if you’re going to use baggies or something.

If you’re going to use trays, you can’t beat this set.
