Inferno: Guelphs & Ghibellines – Storage Solution from Rails on Board

With taking an unofficial break last week, it’s time for another great storage solution from Cube4Me and Rails on Board.

This one I purchased a while back but am just now getting it written about.

Inferno: Guelphs & Ghibellines Vie for Tuscany, 1259 – 1261 (no, I won’t be writing all that out again) is the third in the Levy & Campaign series of games published by GMT Games. It was designed by Enrico Acerbi and Volko Ruhnke.

And much like its predecessor, Almoravid (no, I’m not typing the subtitles! You can’t make me!), there are a shit-ton of pieces in it (is this word in Webster’s yet?)

With all of that, you know a good storage solution will really help you get it out on the table a lot faster than just baggies.

This isn’t one of the ones I was complaining about.

The pack of trays is available from Cube4Me and it’s actually pretty simple.

All you need is one standard 20mm tray with 20 compartments, three card trays with 10 mm height and one card tray with 16 mm height. This is all for the pieces.

First, the big tray will hold all of the counters and resources. And the dice!

This will also hold all of the faction markers.

The four card trays will hold all of the army pieces, because they are kind of an odd shape. The deepest card tray will hold the green units while the thinner ones can hold the rest.

Then you also need four card trays of 16 mm height. These are for the two sets of cards for each side (Arts of War and Command cards).

Unlike Skies Above Britain, these card trays fit perfectly. There are just the right amount of cards!

It all fits together beautifully in the box. No lid lift whatsoever, and you have a ready-made tray for putting all of the counters and pieces out.

And isn’t that the best thing about a storage solution?

There is space for two more card trays, so the card trays you do have will slide around some, but it’s still beautiful.

And it makes that wonderful rattle when you shake the box!

Putting all of the pieces in these trays really makes me want to get the game to the table.

Ok, also because the game sounds brilliant. That’s another reason I’d like to.

Check out Cube4Me for this and other great storage solutions.

And now that I have a few more trays, maybe I’ll be putting together a few sets in the next few weeks.

Keep an eye out!
