Liberty or Death – Storage Solution With Rails on Boards

I’m really enjoying these plastic storage tray solutions from Rails on Boards/Cube4Me, and I’m enjoying writing about them!

I have just about finished with the trays that they sent me to come up with some solutions for, though I am short a few card trays.

But no matter!

Some of the smaller trays that I couldn’t find a use for (with the games I own, not that they’re useless!), I decided would work really well with Liberty or Death, that illustrious COIN game from GMT Games about the American Revolution.

I was a bit torn, thinking at first that I should use one of the 20-compartment deep trays, but it just seemed a bit crowded.

I then tried two of the 12-compartment ones, one of the deeper 15 mm trays and one 8 mm depth.

But that was really sparse, and didn’t have a place to put the pawns and dice. I ended up using a spare split card tray for those.

Finally, I looked at everything again and made a decision.

I finally went back to the 20-compartment, 15 mm depth tray for all of the components.

The dice fit comfortably, even the pawns do. The two main factions get three trays for cubes, leaders, and other stuff (though the Brits actually have five trays since the green cubes are theirs too). The French and the Native Americans get two trays each.

The other trays hold all of the markers and other things, quite comfortably!

I had trouble with the cards, and sadly it’s not a perfect fit but it’s the best fit possible given the number of cards in the decks.

Each 2-year period set of cards has 32 cards in it. The thinner Cube4Me card trays hold 26 while the deeper (16 mm) ones only hold 42.

Thus, this set uses three of the 16mm card trays.

One tray holds a 2-year deck along with the Winter Quarters and Brilliant Stroke cards, filling up the tray nicely.

The other two trays hold the two other 32-card decks, so they looks a bit empty.

Overall, though, this fits in the box brilliantly and it is nice to have everything in one tray.

And now hopefully I will be able to get this game to the table!

What do you think of this one?

Let me know in the comments.

(Cube4Me did send me a few trays to make storage solution packages from, but I’m not sure that I used any of them in this one. I’ve used a bunch of them and have bought more. Either way, thanks to them for sending me some and for making great products!)
