Ready Set Bet – High Roller – Coming to Kickstarter March 5

Betting on horse racing can be so much fun.

Especially when the money’s not yours!

Or at least it’s fake and just part of a game.

Ready Set Bet was published in 2022 by Alderac Entertainment Group. Designed by John D. Clair (one of my favorites) with artwork by Kirk W. Buckendorf and Athena Cagle, this game came out to high acclaim all over the boardgaming world.

Hell, it hit Tom Vasel’s Top 10 list of 2022, and his all-time Top 100 (I think) that very same year!

Not to stand on their laurels, though, Alderac is now coming out with Ready Set Bet – High Roller, a much more deluxe version of this game.

It’s widely considered a party game, but the original version wasn’t as conducive to big parties as it might be. The board was hard to reach depending on how many people you had.

At least that was my experience, playing it at SHUX 2022

But it was a blast!

The High Roller edition will come with premium components, some exclusive content, and “immersive gameplay that takes the original game to the next level” (from the press release).

What comes in this edition?

• A unique game box that looks great on your shelf and carefully holds all of the components
• A massive 25″ x 48″ neoprene Bet Mat
• A 25″ x 14″ neoprene Race Track Mat
• Premium Poker chips for gameplay and money
• Stable of perfectly sized named horses
• Vegas Style Dice

That’s actually kind of massive!

It looks really easy to use, too.

How about those deluxe card backs?

Too bad they don’t have a picture of the vegas style dice, but those sound pretty neat as well.

As noted in the press release, backers will have various options, “with exclusive rewards for early supporters and newsletter subscribers.”

No word on what those options will be, or what the pricing will look like.

They also don’t mention is this going to come to retail or not.

But you can find out by following the Kickstarter and checking it out when it opens on March 5 at 9:00 am Pacific time.
