Food Chain Magnate: Special Edition Coming to Gamefound November 14

Food Chain Magnate is not a game that I’ve ever really been able to get into, mainly because it appears to be long and pretty vicious.

It’s a Splotter game, and I’ve never actually played one of their games before.

I want to!

But I haven’t.

Anyway, the news I saw today made me excited for its fans, even though I am not one of them, so I wanted to give you a heads up about it!

Az Drummond from Lucky Duck Games announced on Boardgame Geek that they will be partnering with Splotter to produce Food Chain Magnate: Special Edition, which will be available on Gamefound on November 14.

This edition will only be available via Gamefound. It will not be going to retail (will there be a “Retail” pledge level for game stores who want to stock a few? Who knows).

The Gamefound link won’t be live until at least tomorrow, but you can check it out when it is.

What will this special edition have?

First, the gameplay will be completely the same. No changes at all.

It will just look a lot better.

Look at those cards!

There are more images on Az’s post, and I’m sure they will be on the Gamefound link, though not until it goes live on November 14.

The campaign will also include the Food Chain Magnate: The Ketchup Mechanism & Other Ideas expansion.

Az says that they’re expecting a late 2024 delivery.

Also, it will only be available in English.

If you can’t wait for that, the Splotter site has the original game reprints on pre-order on their site as well.

Az is also answering questions in the BGG thread, so you might want to check out the post if you’re curious.

Does this attract you at all?

Should I play this game even though I will lose on the first turn and play for 2-3 hours having no chance?

Let me know in the comments.
