A Gaming Life
It’s time for another game storage solution using the great plastic trays from Cube4Me (Rails on Boards).
This one I’ve actually had done for a while but I was missing two card trays and I didn’t want to do an incomplete one.
I finally have them now, though, so I present another one to you.

Apocalypse Road is another racing game from GMT Games, designed by Jeff & Carla Horger.
It was published in 2020.

It uses a lot of the same rules and mechanisms as its parent game, the “This really isn’t NASCAR” game Thunder Alley, but this one adds the ability to try and blow up your opponents’ cars!
That’s not very nice.
But it can be fun!
Unsurprisingly, the storage trays for this one are much the same as those in Thunder Alley.
The game has up to 10 racing teams, so there has to be room for all of their counters.

In addition, of course, there are a ton of damage markers because big heavy guns definitely do cause some damage that’s more apparent than tire wear.
In fact, this game doesn’t differentiate the damage like its predecessor. It’s mostly just “damage”. You can also be “suppressed” and even “spin around.”

The teams fit really nicely into this 20-compartment, 15 mm depth tray with lid.
All of the other counters in the game also fit really nicely.

If the teams themselves didn’t take up 10 compartments, I would almost say a smaller tray would be better because as you can see, the rest of the compartments feel a little emptier.
But whatever works, right?
For the cards, I used three of the 16mm, 42-card trays and two of the 10 mm, 28-card trays.

The Combat Event deck 16 mm tray is a little full at 48 cards, but it’s manageable. Just be careful putting them in.
But the two Movement Event decks fit nicely into the two 10 mm trays.
The two halves of the Race Deck are also slightly more than the 42-card tray holds, but it’s just snug and not too tight.

All of these fit nicely in the box, of course.

This set should be available soon on the Cube4Me site, so you can just order it without having to mix and match trays.
Which is a great service by them!
Have you played this game?
I haven’t yet, though I have played Thunder Alley once.
What do you think of it?
And how does this storage look to you?
Let me know in the comments.
Good solution for crazy game 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
