February 2024 Gaming

10 - BG Stats - Feb 2024 - Grid

After a raucous January as far as gaming went (posting the New to Me in the last week of February was a good sign of that!), I knew February would be a lot less.

However, I didn’t realize it would be this much less!

I missed two Sundays, between a math trade (got a bunch of money and a great game!) and the Super Bowl, two of the four Sundays were nuked.

Add to that me getting sick, or tired, and not playing a lot of lunchtime games at work, and that leads to a very lean month for gaming.

Which I’m not worried about, because there’s another convention in March!

Next month will have a big upswing, I’m sure.

Let’s take a look at the games I did play in February, though.

And here they are in grid form.

That’s right, only 10 games played!

Many thanks to the wonderful BG Stats app for these pictures and just the ability to track all of our games played!

Before we continue, though, you will notice that there are no new to me games!

That’s right. I did not play one new to me game in February.

So don’t expect a post for February about that.

There won’t be one.

I could have forced one, but it would have only been one game and it didn’t seem worth it.

Still, there were a couple of highlights even given the few games played.

This being a new year, it’s time to play the old favourites at least once.

The first Garphill game played was Wayfarers of the South Tigris, one of my favourites!

Yes, we do have to play each one at least once in a year.

It was very comfortable, and while I sucked really badly in this particular game, it’s always fun!

Yep, I have my very own drinking game now.

Unexpectedly, I did get another play of another of my favourite games, this time Obsession by Kayenta Games.

I played it once and it jumped to Number 18 on my all-time list, but I wasn’t expecting to play it again so soon.

So I was very pleased when it was on offer this month!

I didn’t win this time, but I actually did better than I did last time (by 5 points). Unfortunately my friend who owns the game did a lot better than he did last time, blowing us all away!

But it was still a blast.

Another highlight was a play of Fire in the Library.

This is an interesting push your luck game from Weird Giraffe Games that I wanted to review after our 3 plays, but I didn’t get it done.

I hadn’t played it in a long while, so I wanted to play it again so I would be able to review it.

That review is coming up!

Unless I procrastinate and decide I have to play it again before reviewing it.

In addition to my monthly ladder game of Combat Commander, I did manage to get another game in with a guy from the ladder.

We tried a scenario that might be the March scenario (we don’t know yet) and it was a lot of fun!

Unlike this month’s, this scenario was actually pretty good and I’ll probably do an AAR for it at some point.

Of course, every game I play is a highlight, either because it’s fun or because of the people I’m with.

However, those are particular highlights that I wanted to note.

As I mentioned, March is going to be a lot better.

A lot of games will be played at Terminal City Tabletop Convention in two weeks.

And I can’t wait for that!

If you happen to be there, in Vancouver, give me a shout and maybe we can get a game in!

What did you play in February?

Let me know in the comments.
