Stone Age Coming to Digital From Acram Digital

Five posts in a week?

It’s been a newsy week, that’s for sure.

I wasn’t going to post anything today, giving myself a rest, but then I saw something in my email last night.

Stone Age, the venerable (2008) worker placement designed by Bernd Brunnhofer and published by Z-Man Games and Hans im Glück, is coming to Steam!

Developed by the awesome Acram Digital, developers of many great games like Concordia and Istanbul, in addition to Unmatched (so Acram is full of news this week!)

No word on any other digital platforms, but you can wishlist it here on Steam.

There are even a couple of pictures of the game in action on the Steam site.

Stone Age used to be a thing on iOS (I don’t think it ever made it to Android) but the company stopped supporting it and may even have gone out of business.

Kudos to Acram for bringing this one back into the fold (though will it come to iOS and Android? I would assume so at some point).

I’ve never played the game on the table, but I did play the app a few times (and even once or twice on Boardgame Arena) and it’s fine.

I’m not super-enthused about the game itself, but Acram Digital is a great company making great digital adaptations of boardgames and that’s something I want to support.

Another email from them mentioned that there will be three levels of AI (which is pretty standard for them, I think?), online multiplayer with a ranking system (nothing about asynchronous multiplayer, but I assume there will be as most Acram games have that) and online matchmaking.

Not much more about this so far, except that it’s expected in Q2 2023. So maybe only a few months away?

Not even any pricing information at this point.
